Well...my first week at Retrobikes has been an eventful ( read expensive) one ..

I originally was using your wonderful site for a bit of research as i was planning on buying a nineties P7..to replace the C16r i stupidly sold a few years back...

Said, P7 was summarily purchased off the bay....then a chance encounter with a 92 S-works..followed by a Marin..( always loved the Zolatones BITD )

and a 98 Clockwork...no idea why i am getting this really...but have swapped it for a watch...my other vice...and an obsession i am trying to escape from....plus some cash which will pay for the Marin

So it seems i have jumped out of the Vintage Watch frying pan..straight into the Retro bike fire.......ah well..

I am sure it will a pleasant transition...albeit a costly one

So in summary...i have enjoyed my first week here.....bought 4 bikes..with another 2 potential purchases next week..several spare parts...and discovered brands i have never previously heard of.

In addition i have several new quests...i have fallen in lust with the Ibis Avion....and strangely hanker after a Alpinestars EOS...not sure why...my mate had one when they came out....i am sure i hated it back then..

And like many others would probably kill for one of the Kleins

Anyway..look forward to the rest of my stay.

Thanks

Keith

 Thats exactly the reason i came here ,sold the pride and joy after an accident and regretted it for ever more

I've found that you have to stick to how it originally looked when bought, its too easy to adulterate it and you lose where your going.

I nearly got my torus built with period detail, but i have to admit ive lost the way and am now jury rigging a set of C2's on it
I dont know how some of the members here can stick to the original catalogue specs and not adulterate it 8) 8) 8)

Hope you builds go smoothly and all those BB and S/posts come out
Cheers

You'll find out soon .........its not just the money. Space also becomes an issue

Your antique watch collection will probably fit into a few small drawers if need be, unless you are insistant on display cases 8)

I currently have three bikes against the radiator in the siiting room, four in the hall, one in the dining room. Then there's the cellar and garage

Oh and there's another off Freecycle today still in the Landrover

(with me it was ice axes before bikes  )
