First Old World MTB Champs - Holland 4th/5th September

Most of us are going from Harwich to the Hook overnight (Stena) - for some reason it's much more expensive via Hull....

Then it's less than an hour north to Bergern/Schoorl or 45 mins to Amsterdam.

So cool - Kelly, Fisher, who next? Great to see that these guys get what we are trying to do although clearly any legacy won't be a patch on what they have achieved.

People at OWMTBC09 are going to be a very select and discerning group comparable, I reckon, to those in the audience at the first Pistols gig. Although obviously without Mick Hucknall.

Well the excitement is certainly building here, bike almost ready and even some retro kit in the offing!

We shall be off in a couple of weeks to climb mountains in France and Switzerland before heading back to Holland for the grand finale of this year's meanderings at OWMTBC!

I was speaking to a Dutch guy at Glentress last Friday and he is going to be going to this event.
He has 60 different brands of MTB in his celler and over 260 bikes at the last count... he plans to open a museum in a few years.

Wonder which he will take :roll:

His next stop after Glentress was Edradour for a distillery tour... hmm bikes and Whisky

Anyone fancy sharing travel arrangements?,as Ive been quoted over £200 for ferry crossong alone!!

Is that Dover -Calais - normally you can get that for under £100. If you have Tesco clubcard vouchers you can get 4x the value of the vouchers against the fare on Eurotunnel but obviously a longer drive.

We are travelling in Europe beforehand and ending up in Holland for the event so won't be able to share.
