Took our new off-road push chair for a test up at Chicksands this afternoon. Excellent handling and very good over the bumpy rooty bits. Took it round the berms, along the off-camber singletrack, up by the 4X track and through the sandy drop-in and rooty climb near to the hidden valley. The pusher is now knackered, the passenger complained when we did not go fast enough.

This chair was made especially for my son who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, cost a small fortune to get built but worth every penny. The construction is lightweight alu tubing. It has QR wheels - 20" rear and 16" front, drum brakes on the rear which are independant left and right.

Better than him walking 50 feet the deciding he wants a piggy-back for the rest of the way.

I like the design, tilts back easy to turn it I assume ?
Who made it and did you get any funding (charity or other) ?

Asking just in case I need anything in the future.

You'll be adding an assist motor on there before long :D
Glad he's enjoying it and Dad is getting fitter.

Looks good mate. You do realise that you have invited Dan to yours next weekend though right? prepare for it to have the magpie treatment! needs some anodized bits!

Thanks for the link, it's something we will probably have to look in to in the future. At the moment he's still small enough in a back pack for short distances and the supplied Tom CrossCounty well don't
Still neither would fit through our area's obsession with putting kissing gates in that only a slim person walking can get through  . Styles are easier
