So my wife comes bounding through the door and announces she's bought me...fillet steak!

Now this is such a rare event I immediately begin dribbling all over my shirt.

Diet be damned, Im having some of that bad boy. She says no worries and tells me to "go relax" whilst she cooks it.

Amazing smells begin to waft out of the kitchen and upstairs to my den. Oh the anticipation.

10 minutes later I get a call down to get dinner.

I walk into the dining room and.....

She's cut my beautiful fillet into bits and stir fried it with soy sauce and bean sprouts, cabbage and god knows what else!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The planets will be misaligned this evening I'm so mad!

Oh that's a shame.

I visited my dear old Mum earlier on and she's bought me a lovely bit of sirloin steak. Some nice homemade chips, onion rings and mushrooms were a perfect compliment to the steak fried a perfect medium rare.

Absolutely delicious.

Probably not what you wanted to hear though 8)

Prefer Rump myself

G

When buying rump[aka popeseye]the smaller the steak the better.if you get it when its the full face[about 10"x5"]that is right into the roasting cuts in the leg and doesnt make a very good steak[not in the true sense concerning steak]
As you cut across the piece, getting smaller with each cut then you move loser to the end that was connected to the sirloin.but the very last cut on the rump[aka popeseye] doesnt make a nice steak either

Best cut on the entire animal[sorry veggies]is the first five ribs on the roast end of the sirloins[true English roast beef on the bone]
Remove the main muscle and the thin one on top of it.Dump everything else, fat meat the works, all you want is these two muscles.Tie them together and roast uncovered 8)
F🤬🤬k ing expensive  a retail shop will charge you about £70 for that one due to all the waste
