if you watch their auctions they pick out the 'best' but to be honest the best is pretty poor.
Most of them are from cop auctions (I chatted to the guys when I picked a bike up from them).

I work at a Uni and every year the estates/security guys go round and cut the locks of all the bikes left by students. There must be 15-20 bikes left around campus every year, some relatively tasty ones too - just left to rot by their owners.

AFAIK they go to a local bike charity that refurbs some of them and sells them on. Perhaps these are sourced in a similar manner.

There must be loads get left around the country in town centres and campuses. I guess councils round them up and sell them on.
