my t-max rides like my Easton Alu

Blimey - so they are as stiff as Aluminium then.

I may have second thoughts - this was next on my list (along with a Hei Hei / Attitude / Surly / Dekerf Soft Tail etc. etc.)

Thanks Mel,

if the Yo is even stiffer then the T-Max i guess i won't be riding it alot,...

I might want to start looking for one of the others,..

Even stiffer than the T-Max. I am aware the T-Max has a reputation for being stiff. Recently I realized I have another bike that has actually very MaxOR alike tubing, but 2x.

Speaking of stiff bikes

How it compares to an aluminium bike? The Germans did a labtest with it back in the days. It was 2x more stiff than the 2nd stiffest bike ever tested, a Cannondale SM2000.

you do not want stiff and an Attitude is on you list ? ;)

I haven't got an issue with a frame being stiff, and clearly I'd expect the Attitude to be very stiff (probably stiffer than my Cannondale).

It's just that I was expecting a Yo to exhibit typical steel framed 'give' and not to be so stiff, more of an all day in the saddle kind of bike - I guess I got that wrong

:?

LittleBob,

You have a DeKerf. Isn't that quite stiff too? Understood such from someone who owns several.

My Dekerf is awaiting repair at Chaz Roberts (new chainstay and dropouts) and I haven't ridden it yet :(

Can't wait to let you know how it rides. I'm not expecting it to feel ultra stiff though, certainly not as harsh as the 'Dale.

the DeKerf is next on the list after the Fat,..i love the DeKerf Forks

What I additionally would like to mention on T-Max vs Yo. My Yo is longer in the same size the T-Max was. With my size (of my body) I sat too cramped on the T-Max to deal with obstacles like I do with the Yo. It is not all about stiffness. The ride is a complicated equation with many factors.

The T-Max was offered in two lengts: short or long fronttriangle.
