Fat Chance,..what can you tell me

Defiant,

The Yo will be more compliant than the Tmax, but honestly, if you want to run fully rigid and want that classic "steel" feel, comfortable yet responsive, look for an early Wicked. The Lites just don't have the torsional rigidity in the top tube for larger sizes and tend to wander a bit in rough single track.

cheers,

rody

thanks Rody,..

i think i read something like "a better build" on your site/blog a while ago about a Wicked you restored , am i correct?

Not ridden a Yo or Wicked in anger.
Ridden my Buck with lots of anger

Its shit fast. Handles really quickly, feels light to ride (as some bikes do).
Its not massiviely stiff - but feels stiffer to ride than my 96 RM Altitude in terms of comfort.

Honestly though, for one or two rides a year, who gives a shit how stiff it is? Get the one you love the most and build it sweet. :)

good point!

Go for a Grellow YO that's just the Icon IMHO...... don't be too botherd about the one you just missed last time cause that was a wreck, lots of dents and even more rust :(
As for ride quality the Yo is just the best ride for me, very stable at high speed yet responsive at short twists and corners.... and certainly not too flexy
As for the "looks' a wicked looks a bit more retro than a YO...... everytime I see a YO (or my GROOVY with YO geometry  ) I'm amazed it's a 1989 design....(compare that to a 1989 supersierra :? )
good luck with your search... i'll keep an eye open in CO

Are you (Rody) still going to restore the Yo? even if it is a mess like you say it is?

Yes,..it would be nice if you bring back a Yo for me hand carry from Co,...

I included the YO in sort of a deal I made with Rody concerning something that has to remain a little secret for at least 4 more weeks
