Hi Guys,

first i am going to finish my current projects but i think my next project later this year will be a Fat Chance. (or maybe a DeKerf but i lean towards a Fat right now)
Now I know about some different models but what can you tell me?,..
What are the differences between these models, what i do not to watch our for,..which should i buy,..which stay away from?

Please if you have any info, i hope you can accompany it with pictures,..

i have found fatcogs already ,.. ;)

Thanks

Bas

stay away from rusty ones! If you want something that will make anything you have ridden before seem like a raleigh mustang with concrete in the tubes then buy a fat ti they are the most amazing riding experience it will be a dark dark day if i ever am forced to sell mine!

As John says above, it's the Yo that is really iconic especially with the original rigid forks

what do you intend on using the bike for? theres a big difference in ride feel between the different frames. the Yo was the most popular in later yrs although its not everyones fave as its pretty stiff.
the fat chance ti was the weirdest ride in that its both drivetrain stiff & not overly harsh on rough downhills.

honestly,..i do not think i will ride it a lot,..once a year?

So the Yo is pretty stiff?,.... like the T-max over my ATX colorado Serotta?,...hmm,...i do not like it to be too stiff,..that's why i like the ATX over the T-max,..

The Ti sounds interesting but i guess there will not be alot of them for sale,..
And what about a Monster or Wicked?

Bas,

I owned both: T-Max and Yo. I never did an extensive test, but my guess is the Yo is stiffer.

Wickeds are a more classic design. There are also Wicked Lites. Introduced around '93. They have lighter tubing, tt cable routing and few more features. Monsters were modified Wickeds in the beginning, but were almost like Bucks (replaced the Monster) in the end. In short Bucks Shavers are Yo's with smaller diameter tubing and monostay. Non heat treated too. Both Wicked and Buck count as more comfortable than the Yo. Monsters, Bucks and Bro Eddys (you hardly encounter one) were the 'cheaper' offerings.

I think whether you perceive a Yo as uncomfortable depends on what you like, your condition, your health (back) and of course rider weight.

Thanks Mel,

if the Yo is even stiffer then the T-Max i guess i won't be riding it alot,...

I might want to start looking for one of the others,..
