To be fair ratbane you were the first pm but you asked for pics.. Northerndave jumped straight in with the "I'll take it 100%" . There's been lot of interest already but I feel I'm being fair offering first dibs to the man who gave me a definite "I want that". I posted a price and that's what I'll take. I'm not going to start any kind of auction to up the price. Sorry if anyone is offended or objects to the way I do things but I'm just trying to be fair.If the deal with Dave doesn't happen then we''ll see what happens but he seems pretty sure.

Yeh well I just finished building a new bike and I need to trim the budget on that one a bit so something had to go.I've had the SAB almost 19 years but I wanted something newer. I never really kept it for any love of retro per se, just like it as a bike but I rode it 69km this summer over some serious rooted trails during the semaine federale thing here in France and the lack of modern suspension just wore me out.I ended up riding the marin for the last 2 days and despite being 7 or 8 pounds heavier to pedal I was actually less tired at the end of the rides and my wrists weren't numb either. So time to send it on to a new home where it will be loved as the classic it now is. Even by modern standards with all the trick carbon stuff the SAB is unbelievably light for a steel frame, and boy have I done some miles on it.It's never been a shelf queen in all the years I've had it.I just feel I'm better off having a bike that is suited to the riding I do now.

Here is the new steed which I know you retro boys will hate but it does have a square taper XT UN73 BB and original spesh cranks to fit as I hate all that external shite.So at least a nod to the old school.
