Fat Chance press in bottom bracket

Good call on the Mavic bottom bracket. Technically, you're supposed to have the edges of the bottom bracket shell chamfered when you install one of those, but I suppose it would still work even if you skipped that step.

Yeah you are right sancho, and a good bike shop should have the tools to do it, mind you the dale did not and it is still working fine.

Agree golden, if it is a resto then the original spindle and collars looks just right mind you if it is the difference between getting it going or wall art then its an easy choice.

Monster, is it the lush pink one....... 8)

you can fit one of these mavic Bottom brackets- they don't need threads they press against the rim- I had one on an old dale- they come up on the bay every now and again and are pretty bomb proof so a good alternative to the spindle fat pain in the bum route. Think there are cheaper bottom brackets that do the same thing YTS rings a bell seem to remember sjs cycles did one....
