Yeah, I think they were expecting to get much more fundraising with all the hype it got all over the forums. It's good they kept the option to potential customers on a made to order system. I think putting every single detail onto the Kickstart program was outstanding and then keeping the option open even when their target wasn't reached.
I was happy when Chris announced that Fat was returning but his campaign simply isn't good enough. Who's going to build it? What geometry is it going to have? How is he going to make X amount of frames in such a short amount of time? BTR hit the nail on the head the first time round.

From the first day of getting back into the business huge demand erupted in the mountain bike world from both new and old riders. I was extremely excited as well. I just wouldn't fork out 2.k on a bike from a manufacturer which hasn't released detailed images of the bike itself or announced who is building them. I'm a huge fan of Fats and I think Chris seems like a great guy but for much less money I'd prefer to go to my local builder and get a frame built out of steel to fit my needs.

That ^^ reads like a contradiction, to me.
If I had to guess, I'd think that the first 10 expensive package frames would be done by CC, and the rest from a bulk manufacturer. I'm only surmising though - so happy to be corrected when someone can confirm for sure.

As long as a Chinese welded bike is painted and assembled in the USA it can be called "made in the USA". So I guess him painting, placing the decals and signing each frame is enough to constitute "made by Chris Chance". Only the most naive would believe he's going to build 250 frames in 150 days.
