Never heard of them, have heard of Fat. If they had the rep they would try to sell for the same although I agree that the £2500 figure is not the price of a future production frame.
They are right up there with BTR. 8)

Yep, and I'd not heard of them either until recently. Same rules apply, if they could they would charge more but very few know who they are atm.

Though for $2000 or less one could get a custom built Soulcraft or Independent Fabrications, or a frame from any number of small steel builders of high repute.

Same rules apply, if they could they would charge more but theres a limited market for high end steel frames when carbon is stronger, lighter, cheaper, etc, etc...

Re:

I'd class a new Fat in the same class as IF and expect the production frames, without fancy stickers or parties, to come in cheaper. Probably around IF price?

If they're going to be made by Ventana I'd certainly hope they'd be a cut above IF...

You say they made a fortune selling out, really? Think it was more along the lines of paying the bills so they could continue.

The reported sale price, as it was printed, was $250,000 with another possible $100,000 later. All went to creditors who were owed more than $500,000. \

Hardly a "killing."

Wonder how much it cost to buy back the brand rights in the end then.

mmmm, the number mentioned here was £250,000 with 100k (or even a bit more I forget) there after, which is either a considerable difference or human error misprint.

To be fair though, whilst the point I was making was more that the brand was Sold on, and less about the killing, Given what Keith Bontrager had to say ref his company, it wouldn't surprise me at all the pound was misprinted here instead of the Dollar, and the company was indeed on its Knees.

Would go some way to explaining the current start up scenario too.

As far as I know, it was free for anyone to take early last year.

Interesting, I had read many posts on Fatcogs stating that the founder backer (il respectfully not mention their name) still owned the rights. Glad Chris decided to relaunch it. Doubt it would have worked as just a side rebrand for a main player.
