Falcon cycles.

Retro Newbie
I have just aquired a Falcon ladies road bike dating from about 1970 according to the Sturmey Archer hub. It has alloy handlebars, alloy mudguards, alloy chainguard and alloy rear carrier. I would like to know more about this please, but I cannot find anything from Falcon online apart from light weight racing cycles. Can any body point me in the right direction please?
Thankyou.

Does the uppermost down tube have a curve (upwards) where it meets the seat tube ?

Pics ??

PS I sold Falcon bikes in the 70's when they originated from barton on Humber and I don't recall a sturmey archer 3 speed like the one you descriobe.

Re-Falcon bike

Thanks Shaun for your reply. The tube is straight. It does have all the correct badges etc. and the centre pull Weinman brakes. I will take some photos at the weekend and send them to you.

photos of Falcon

These are some photos of the Falcon I promised.
Thanks Shaun.
If these haven`t been sent to you then check my album.

That's unusual (to me anyway)......by the time I arrived on the scene in the early 70's Falcon had edged towards the lightweight side and I don't remember any 3 speeds at all.

The only Ladies I remember hanging around the shop was a Black Diamond (think that was the one) but that was a "lightweight" 10 speed and was the Ladies version of the gents Black Diamond.

The badge is metal and has the Ernie Clements moniker on it and which does place it at the early 70's or more likely in the 60's By the time I bought my FAlcon San Remo the head tube badge was a sticker LOL

Maybe someone else on here can shed any light ?

Shaun
