I thought a replica had to be, well, a replica, not a cheap facsimile.

Any response from Ebay? Presumably they've been on to him.

I've now reported him as well, as a disgruntled bidder.

I think there may be some difference between a 'replica' and a fake.
A replica should include the correct components, including a correct frame.
What you have is a cheap fake.
I have stopped bidding, obviously, and hope you are correct in your description, and that the winner does not do you for misrepresentation.
