Fake Oakleys Fives?

Fenland Dragon

Devout Dirtbag
I have just bought a pair of Oakley Fives. They are my third pair of Oakleys. I have a pair of T-wire and Eye Jackets.

I have received them today having purchaed them on line. They are the Silver iridium ones. I have bought them from an online dealer ( name which I would not like to mention incase my claims are wrong ).

My first impressions are the Fives are not as well made as my other 2 pairs definatley feel lighter when picked up and lighter when worn. I just have a suspicion they are fakes.

They came with a white cloth bag my other 2 have grey one. And supplied with box and warrenty & registarion card.

Please can anyone plut my mind to rest?

my old fives never felt as good as old eye jackets.

how about pictures and email to oakley?

Fives are Oakley's entry level shades, nothing wrong with them but just a bit less material than others. An easy way to spot a fake is the lens, if it is slightly distorted or makes thing look a 'bit funny' then there are fakes. Oakley lens are second to none for clarity.

Just an observation, all my Oakley's have come in a black bag including my wives last pair of 5's and my pair of Livestrong that i brought from a Oakly shop!

There are some good fake Fives around....another good way of telling is the Oakley print on the nose bridge (or whatever it's called!), usually thicker and poorer quality on the fakes.....a friend had a moody pair and they were pretty convincing in most other respects!

The real ones seem quite flimsy! I have some in the Persimmon Frame/Persimmon Lens colour combo, if anything the fakes have more weight to them, he he!

fives are pretty fragile. Defo their budget model. But if they keep the sun out your eyes and don't fall off- perfect!
