fake email alert

does any one fall for those bank e-mails?? I got one from Barclays. I made up some a/c details and sent them to him  Alas i got loads more after that. But at least he thought he had tricked some one for a few mins till the details didn't work.

and don't reply, even to send them abuse, as they'll then know they've reached an active account and can send you even more crap

I'm usually very careful about opening emails from banks etc i.e. I don't!!! I'm also antivirus/spyware etc proofed up to the hilt, but today I logged onto my igoogle page and immediately my hotmail account went mental, sent a load of shite emails to all my address book advertising some shop in china, then wiped my address book. Bollocks and also strange considering my sent items folder says I sent the emails to lots of people I DON'T know as well as every one of my contacts....

I asked a friend who worked in banking fraud that.........his answer was "you wouldn't ***king believe how many" :P

I don't usually get them, but funnily enough this morning there was one from ............The Royal Nigerian Bank, Skye Branch, Highland Region .......hmmmmm I don't think so mateys.

Haven't deleted it yet as I thougt it was so funny. Might send to an "unsecure" computer and open there for a giggle.

Now, on a totally unrelated, yet strangely similar note, I used to get excellent Guinness brewed in Nigeria - I kid you not. The real McCoy, special export version and higher octane thn the usual stuff. V Nice - haven't seen it for years now

The only spam I ever get is these. Normally two a day, Halifax, RBS, Abbey National and Lloyds. They always claim to be upgrading or that your account is suspended due to suspicious usage, and they always spell apologise with a z
