Facebook Stalkers!

Used to be you could choose how quickly or intimately you got to know people. I have an occasional friend who has added just about everyone she has met through me onto her Facebook.

For various reasons I had decided not to hang with her any more, but what do I do about the fact she has been invited to an event that is being organised for me by my friends?

This is why I hate social networking.

Is the event for you?

If its yoru birthday or something get the event organiser to remove her from the invite or whatever?

That is the thing, it is too late because she already accepted and I cannot do diddly about it.

I just wanted to whinge about social networking's dark side.

facebook can attract some strange folk but friends who you dont know are the worst.

and friend thieves are common, my ex wifes never been my friend on facebook but 90% of the people on her list are my old mates and there girflriends and they dont even like her :roll:

Well I have worked out that she is really going to town here. I was in a band with her ex, and she took him to court for various things. I was attempting to be supportive and now she is winding me up.

Women aye? Can't kill 'em!

I hate those. You meet them for 5 mins and in the next morning theres a friend request pending. Most of the time, if I know theres a chance of getting to know better (say some good friends boy/girl friend) ill put them in the hold list, say number 3 or you cant virtually see a thing. If its just a bore, ignore or accept and delete. Usualy works.

Have to say, I don't get the quandries of social networking, really.

You can just silently ignore friend requests if you'd rather not add people to your friend list, and you can remove friends equally silently, if you wish.

Truth be told, I'm not even sure why I'm on there - my misanthropy doesn't go down well at all - but at least you can be choosy, and remove a lot of things from public view.

I dont think friend deletes are secret anymore, they show up on timeline.
