Well I have just deleted the app from all my devices and culled 250 so called friends, down to 230 now. 2 Days later I am back where I belong on retro bike; do you agree there are far too many social media sites?

agree bud, facebook is okay if used within reason, but way too many pages and schemes that spoil it, the others i tried i dont use anymore, i do admit i spend too much time on there and not enough here, shame on me lol. also need to plan and organise more rides this year, i was not keen enough last year

Yeah I found myself reading posts about someones dinner on fb, when I could be looking at what bikes people had been building and planning rides :facepalm:

They don't bother me, although I prefer the setup of Google+ to FaceBook.
It great for arranging rides and organising things though (both are).

Mind I use it to communicate rather than update I'm doing a poo in a toilet in the middle of nowhere.
Or rib yer mates, same as I would do I that outside 3D world thing.

It is Chris and it's great if it used for a purpose, since I took the app off my phone I find that alot better. I dont need to be checking notifications constantly, that was the biggest distraction, and the golden rule is to keep you freinds on fb that are relevent to you.

And it isnt filled with constantly repeated adverts showing either semi-naked young boys, or semi-naked old men, which i find thoroughly disgusting!

On a few occasions i have been close to opening an account but there is always a nagging feeling that stops me. I'm in good knowledge that the site has it's uses by building social schemes etc.
In moderation. That's the key with all aspects of day to day life but, folk are on there every ten seconds posting shi*e, about shi*e(literally).

That site has become a near addiction for people as they alter their status with really dubious and random quotes and statements.

seriously. "BORED, SO BORED"!!. "LOL, I can't find my other sock". "OMG my family are cranks!"

Need i go on?

So, now it's my turn...WTF!!??

Ok, we all need some sort of outlet but i reckon the place should be used to communicate and an aide to your social life. I mean i've known fools boasting about 500-600 'friends'. by that they mean mates of mates of mates of mates that they don't even know or even met.
In truth, look around. I would sooner have 2 or 3 good friends(proper real life human ones that you can knock on their door, remember that?) that will assist you in real life terms when called upon, rather than 500 digital ghosts that may, if you are lucky, offer a "gutted for you mate" if you are in bother in some way and need help.

Chris has demonstrated how the site can be useful but there are far too many bored people on there.

Arse about facebook is like most things in modern life, it can be a very useful tool to communicate but is inundated with some very sad people with a major issue of there lack of self importance , yes I use it and it can be very good but all you have to do is limit your friends to the ones you actually know and have something useful to communicate , simples really , ignore the dross and numpties and it can be a very useful social tool but I really couldn't give a toss if people are feeling hungry/what they are having for tea or how big a turd they've just dropped , if you put up posts like that then don't expect to stay on my friends list lol.
