Any idea what size bearings i'd need for a Tioga Alchemy headset, 1 1/8th threadless? and do you have any red outers? or can you get any?

Hi chap... not sure on the alchemy headset tbh.. I have got some that fit the avenger.. ? , I'll do some digging and see if I can find the sizes..

Red Outer.. :roll: :roll: I turned down a big roll of red outer as I did not think anyone would want it.. I can possibly see if he has it left,, how many mtrs would you want .. ? and would it be for gear or brake.. ?

if it'll fit the wider, full brake and gear and i'd say 4 metres if it'll fit both brake and gear and umm, i've never had a a Tioga headset before this so..

Hmm.. 5 mm brake outer would be usable for the gear and the brake so I'll check and see if he has it left and if its 4 or 5mm for you.. ,, he might sell me a few mtrs, but not sure I'd want to buy the full roll if its just for 4 mtrs...?

I'll give him a ring tomorrow..

The bearings , I'll check the size of the ones in my avenger headset and let you know the size,, then worse case I could send you one to compare...

we know it works - check
but why do they make 2 differents ones if just one works for both??

how big is a roll sith? i *could* be interested in some red.

I assume its to reduce friction on the inner/outer interface of the cable , but tbh, I've been using 5mm outer with gear cable for years with no problem, the 4mm outer gear cable however wont accept inner brake cable

The few boxes of outer I bought was in 30mtr rolls , so I assume this is standard fare.. he did have some red , but was not prepared to take the chance to buy a few boxes of this, as it was more expensive and was not sure people would want it

If I got enough interest maybe I could see if he has a box or two left,, he had quite a few bits and bobs , most of it in his garage now sat there wasting away , he was a hard nail to negotiate with regarding prices, I think having to close due to internet based sales and the recession had really rubbed him the wrong way

ah i see, all makes sense really then. i will continue to use brake outer for all my needs
