If it was April fool then a sick one. But they didn't take the most practical car to go on holiday. A Z3. I bet it had a space savour tire. So no place to put the blown tire. May be they should taken out their bags and held them in side the car?

A few years ago a petrol garage nearby was blown to bits due to a exploding lorry tire .... I would guess the tire went bang cuz it was weak and inside the car which was far warmer than outside

Yes the z3 dose use a space saver so it could not go there and I would guess they would go straight to a garage to get a new tire so why move stuff from the boot into car when it far easier to hold the tire

Friends of mine went down to the south of France in a MX-5 .... they loved it

did an accident investigation on a fatality in a quarry a few years ago
when i worked for the HSE (still shiver when i think about 2 years there)

fitter trying to remove a wheel from a terex ,resorted to using a gas axe
the resulting heat in the wheel assy caused the air in the tyre to exand
and burst the tyre ,de-capitating the fitter
no nice

still get trauma from that job

yes, there has been quite a few fatalities from this,

I've seen some mad stuff after working mains pressure testing aswell, pipe ends do blow off like they do in the movies..... but its even worse if theres air in there.....oooo jesus
