Did the Etape this weekend flying retrobike colours when it wasn't raining.

Rode the mod/tro Gazelle and was very pleased with how I felt and performed. First time I'd ridden over 50 miles in a day, let alone with strong headwinds and pouring rain. 5 hours and 55 Minutes - I also stopped to help 3 riders so could have been better.

I saw some lovely retro bikes too...

Harry Quinn
Highlight was a blue Gios
Puch tourer (kept me company for half the ride)
Hetchins (straight stays)
Vitus? (purple bonded tubes, silver cast lugs)
Flying Scot
Loads of old colnagos
and a few others

Excellent

Excellent effort mate !

Sounds like you had a blast :)
A big effort, you must be pleased even with the slight dampness early on.
Well done 8) 8)

Good stuff, well done, especially with that wind!

Was the Puch tourer the one with the handlebar bag? It looked lovely....

I can't remember, there was a bloke on it about my age, stocky and determined. the bike was a workhorse by the look of it, well used but looked after - metallic light blue with prussian blue segments.

Well done The Ken. Headwinds really make a huge difference. I seem to get them all the time ata the moment, even on an out and back ride.
