Seem to recall some of the carrera estay frames had reynolds tubes and were possibly sourced from the same factory as Saracen. This isn't one. Looks more apollo quality than what halfords would normally badge as carrera.

Thats a shame then John, the timing and location would have been great for someone after an estay..perhaps not as a quality one but an estay never the less.

The quattro is the better estay model > http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66112 . Full XT and 531 MAgnum, not too shabby all told.
