Paul Gibson undoubtedly needs help in running his business. I think we can all agree that the type of operation is almost too much for a single person to run.
That said, there is no excuse for his behavior, taking people’s money then ghosting them. I was luck as I got my frame back after about 14 months, however he blamed the delay on paint/chrome. In the end I got it back with neither done. When I received it the frame Canti bosses were not installed, so according to Paul he sent it to paint unfinished. Tvat would have been silly and I really do t believe that. The truth is that he didn’t touch the frame for over a year after my frame building course, and blamed the services of others.
When I eventually got the frame there were three defects, all of which were fairly big.
No canti bosses, no clearance on forks for guards (it’s a touring bike!!) and the r/h bottom bracket was not chased squarely. Fortunately I have managed to have bosses installed by David at colour tech dartford and I managed to carefully correct tge r/h thread situation. I also purchased a replacement for from a surly LHT and painted it to match.
Of course he couldn’t help becoming ill, but communication is key. Paul Gibson doesn’t deserve to be in business because of the way he treats customers. I’m self employed and would also have no clients if I treated them as he does.
For me alls well that ends wel as I have my bike. But it’s not like that for many.
