fudge fudge fudge - if this was Cambridge I would have bought it straight away and dang the consequences but Edinburgh is just too far...

start your own in cambridge .

contact the seller in scotland to buy his tools and stock , and look for small shop in cambridge .

Hmmm....

you can even sell us shares .

I ll chip in . you ll be the official retrobike mechanic and shop window .

couple of places in Mill road, Cambridge for about £8,500 a year. Problem is, Mill road has a good footfall of students but is also scrote capital.

Its feasible but I would have to do some serious thinking. I've worked in Cambridge before and its a git to get to when commuting.

you could have had mikes bike when it was for sale a yr ago or so. If you set up a shop down there you will have a license to print gold,

But youll have to fight several other shops. Especially them folk at cash convertors, :D

Staion cycles was set up by a mate when he was 26. he is now 30 and making serious money.

He who dares rodney...

Does he have anything to do with the 'Giant' franchise which is opposite my apartment? The mechanic there is ex-Station Cycles.

Nice little shop which would be a nice boutique type shop for the fixie riders n like or just a retrobike garage...might lead to a chain of them across the country.
areas not great but then not a dump either. leith cycles is right there and think they got a bike robbed out of the window.
Mind you there is a big shopping centre there so hopefully some wandering souls will poke their head in.
Can't afford to take on that project as it's alot of money but I would be interested in buying a share and helping out.

I can't figure out exactly where this is......any of the other locals clue me in?

Better info here, it was mentioned on the MacRetro forum:

http://eastsidebikes.com/visit-us/

To my reckoning, it is in the Abbeyhill/Abbeymount area, across the road from the Shell Station that has the Abbeymount Techbase behind it.

Though as an Orcadian I am hardly local.

But I did stay in Edinburgh for 11 years.

Bloomin Eck!
i must have passed it in the car a million times and never noticed it!
Just up from the old Gilchrist shop, not a bad wee hood I woulda thought?
