If crank is straight ahead text is upside down.
Normaly it´s readable that way?

Had the same purple ones and the text was the other way like Shamus mentioned.
Also the silver ones from my attitude is the other way.

more likely factory messup. .. OR. . . a left arm converted to a right, be interested to see what way around the pedal thread is.
Left and right arms are the same, except, RH has the boss drilled for the spider and the spider trtaining rivets. Not such a difficulp operation to undertake..
