i totaly agree with you there, but it is an old bike with old geometry and a low narrow riding style which is not the most comfortable positions, new bikes are alot better for riding riding, so although i have a Pace RC200 i feel it is a hell of alot of money for something which isnt that good if that makes sense :? :?

I think you've missed the point. Of retrobike.

A £500 Boardman from Halfords will ride better than a 20 year old Pace- or 99% of the bikes on RetroBike for that matter. But that's not the point. You don't choose a Fiesta over a Daytona because the seats are more comfy or the boot is bigger do you?
This is a snapshot of history. An icon. An insect trapped in the amber. It's not a personal build and shouldn't be- it's how it left the factory. Fresh from the Tardis!
If it doesn't sell it can go up into the loft. Simples.

Couldn't have put it better myself and as others have said, if I had the cash it'd be mine. 8)

Its nice to cause abit of a stir in the forum, obviously you are not getting my point, as i have said i love the bike and yes i would have the bike if i wanted to spend 2K on a bike that wasnt my day to day rider!! but to spend that much on something to potter around on occasionaly i would not spend that amount, also i would not want to use such a lovely bike as the Pace is everyday infact i would want that on my mantle piece and not caked in crap on the trails getting chipped and destroying parts. :(
The answer to DR S question is yes i would rather use a fiesta than a daytona for my everyday car, but as a weekend car id have the daytona which is exactly my point!!!

LOL nup thats right i wouldnt, but it also wouldnt matter if i wasnt going to ride it, im definatly not a fan of alloy hardtails, my Clockwork rides far better than my Pace, i suppose thats why i sold it and kept the 1991 Clockwork, The Pace was my dream bike when i got it iv wanted 1 since i was about 12, then when i got 1 i hated it, and it just lived in my garage, but it was worth holding onto just to look at it, then i needed to fund my new project so had to sell it
