I had an advert pulled the other day as i stated that i had it advertised elsewhere and reserved the right to end auction early.

I have today seen listings with that vey description in the adverts and they been listed longer than my item that i had to repost and lost out on 4 potential buyers who was watching it.

pointless trant but

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH

They're GITS. They allow all kinds of things that break their own rules, so long as they're getting money from it.
Ebay is the UCI of auction houses.

ebay

They dont police or read every listing but if someone complains then they look. Simples
Advertising elsewhere is not allowed as it means from the start the auction may not run till the end. I too had an ad pulled for the same reason and it was explained to me after I sent an email asking for clarification.
Its fair enough, I certainly dont bid on anything that says advertised elsewhere as chances are it will disappear before the end. If you want to sell it, then sell it, if you want to auction it, then auction it. Cant have it both ways.
I know it was certainly annoying when it happened to me but it is fair to pull it. I never do it but if you see the others then let them know and they will stop it. I just dont bother reading any further, let alone bid. It just erodes bidder confidence.

100% correct  they are in a win win situ along with those wankers paypal

ebay

I dont like a lot of things to do with ebay and paypal. I do use them both so I put up with it.
It is pretty simple though, if you really dislike it that much then dont use it.
I have issues with ebay and paypal but I have benifitted from using both through buying, and selling. It gives access to sellers worldwide and gives exposure to sell things worldwide and for that they can charge (even if it is over the top) what they want, its their company and they offer a service.
Until there is a serious competitor then we have to either put up with it or cancel our accounts and lose the exposure/access.
I agree it sucks but its life, and nobody forces us to use their service, we all chose to because of what it provides.

Doesnt mean we have to agree with them and the policies they use and still doesnt stop me wanting to rant at them over it.

my issue was they pulled add rather than messaging me and telling me that i had breached part of that policy and give me a chance to remove the offending description

you actually cant "reserve the right" to do certain things like that because it's in the T&C you agree to sell to the winning bidder etc

The one practice that annoys the hell out of me is sellers who put crap in the title. especially with NOT something or other.

I am straight on the report button

rant

Nothing wrong with having a rant, good to get it out
Your ranting and we are all listening.
Its just not worth getting wound up about as you get stressed over a situation you cant change, or have influence to change and they just made a decision and moved on, so no stress or inconvenience on their part.
As mentioned we all agreed to the rules when we signed up. (even if we didnt read them)
