Ebay advice

I won a pair of dmr v8s on ebay last week but the seller is no longer registered. Does anybody have any experience of this type of situation and what my options are? I emailed the seller to ask when they would be posted but haven't had a reply. I paid using paypal so assume I get some protection?

So what should I do next? Do I have to wait for ages before reporting it to ebay? It seems unlikely that they would disappear off ebay for the sake of £10.50! I'd consider it for a few grand perhaps!

You need to report it to eBay and read their very long description of what caan be done to get your money back - but basically I think it says that if the funds are still in the seller's Paypal account, they can fish them out for you, but if they aren't there's no protection.

I had this happen to me and ended up with nothing. It was only a small amount of money, so it didn't matter, but I would say eBay are to blame as much as anything. Your basic protection on eBay is that sellers don't want to lose their positive feedback, so a seller is unlikely to rip you off over a small amount of money. If however eBay terminates a seller's account while they have unsettled transactions, the seller no longer has any incentive to supply you, so why should they?

It looks like I have to wait 10 days first, which is going to pretty much rule out them fishing the funds out the paypal account. Maybe they'll turn up, but maybe I have too much faith in people!

I was just going to say if your paypal account is linked to your credit card then you may have some protection from your credit card. I had been waiting 3 months for some forks from the USA and I was talking to the credit card company - they were just about to send me out a claim form and the forks turned up
