EARTHQUAKE!!!

Thought the bloody chimney was falling down at one o'clock this morning! Been up to check the roof and apart from a bit o' mortar missing from the chimney everything seems ok.

Daughter said that the books were falling off the shelves in her room like a scene from poltergeist.

Local radio said epicentre was Ludford near Market Rasen, that's about 15 miles from me.

Before we knew what it was, Mrs GT had me put Lincs FM on to see what the hell it was; the DJ was going bonkers!

You ought to have a look at the Echo website, www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk , some of the readers 'accounts' of what happened are so funny!

Jeez, didn't take long for the God botherers to get on the bandwagon.

This is only the beginning of what the Bible tells us will happen. Trust in God and don't panic or fear, people. Commit your lives to following God and trust Him alone. We felt and heard the quake, prayed and even our 10 year old fell right back to sleep again. Be at peace. Bless you all, Su ---- Matthew 24:3-8 What sign will signal your return and the end of the world? Jesus told them, ?Don?t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ?I am the Messiah.? They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don?t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won?t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.
Su, Billinghay

about a weeks worth of local news, I reckon,

Is that along the lines of...

"I nearly fell out of my chair the room shook so much, and the lights flickered for nearly 15 minutes afterwards. It reminded me of the tremors we had back in 52 but not as bad" said 87 yo Bette Smith etc

or something equally as trivial? ;)

More like this I reckon,

"Something wasn't right with old Shep, she was moving roung and acting strangely. I got up to see to her when one of my ornaments fell off the shelf and landed on the chair I'd just been sitting on. It was like she knew what was going to happen. She saved my life. I'll get her a bone" Mrs Trellis 76
