Early Bontrager Race Lite

Awesome thanks, can you post a drive side shot of yours please? Would like it for reference as Im considering a one by drive as well. What components are you using for your drive train?

There's loads of photos on the thread here: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1995-bontrager-race.444463/

I built it with m9000 xtr kit initially, with an 11-46 cassette. It's been 1x , 2x using modern 11 speed stuff and now it's back close to catalogue spec.

I also ran it with an exotic carbon fork for a while which I thought really suited it.

So if I’m going to drop bar this I want to do it with either a Salsa P10 quill stem or an older LD stem. Problem is this, not convinced I want a suspension fork on this and depending which direction I go with the stem would determine what fork I use. I’m considering a Stridsland fork without disk tabs or something similar. Definitely want straight blades and cantilever brakes. The P10 stem is awesome but also rare as heck. The LD stem
Is also very cool but requires threadless fork so a new headset would be needed as well. Do you guys have any suggestions as to which you think would be the best set up? Don’t really have switchblade money unless I sell the Raceface crankset. Tough times over here lol.

I will take a picture of the bike with seat and bar height set for me and post it. The bike posted above is what I going for. I also love this Cameron that is my Unicorn. The forks look to be very similar, any guess what they are? 285 WTB Drops Ibis Stem.webp

Not been repainted no, if it has then it’s fooled me. Yes the bottle cage mounts under the down tube are really odd. I don’t know enough about these to know if that’s normal or perhaps a custom request at the time of it being built.
The underside-downtube bottle stuff was "normal" if you will.... allowed for my bottle... I had a a bike with the normal two and one on the underside of the downtube.... nice to have the extra... got covered in mud/dirt when riding though - I would just pour out the water from the dirty bottle into a clean... damn nice feature IMHO.
