Picked up yesterday.
Full Deore DX, serial and date codes suggest '90-91.

Is that a good, or bad provenance?

Heffs was a bike shop in West Drayton, not far from Heathrow airport. These were just generic far eastern frames. There are a few iterations but I seem to recall this was one of the first. I paid about £200 ish for frame, forks, headset seatpost and stem. Check the BB area for cracks. I sold mine to my brother and the BB snapped clean off when he was commuting in central London. A friend of ours raced for Heffs and he had the non estay version which faired better. I recall an ad in the back of MBA and I think this is quite likely a frame built by Marvel.

Definitely: flat end cap!

Has a lot in common with the RM Cirrus.

Has a lot in common with the RM Cirrus.

Some similarities indeed, but quite a few differences as well, such as the wishbone seat stay of the RM and some other structural differences.

They were more similar to Scott's of the tine if I remember correctly.
