Dumb question about cantilever brakes?!

Hi all.

I have maybe a dumb question about canti brakes.

I have acquired a set of Kona Curve brakes.
Normal canti's have one side that has a bolt for the straddle cable to bolt into. The other side is a quick release clip type arrangement.

In the Kona Curve brakes, both sides are a 'quick release' and there is no bolt to connect the cable to.
The straddle cables I have seen will not work in this arrangement as there Wil be no way to adjust the cable. So what type
Of straddle cable do
I need and where from?

Pictures would help!

Thanks.

you need something similar to what is used with cyclocross' 'frogleg' style brakes - they have a barrel at one end and an adjustable barrell at the other:

Thanks...but. The cyclocross ones dont seem to have the bit that you can adjust on the straddle wire, i.e to make it shorter or longer? They just seem to be stoppers that sit in the cradle on the canti arm? Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

as a quick fix i would go for the uk froggleg option, but those ones look very nice

$13 dollars is like £7 ish quid in real money too, so not expensive really

Received the froggleg ones from Zepnat. Not really suitable. The adjustable barrels are far too big for Kona Curve brakes.

Will see what the ones from the states are like when they turn up.
