Dirt Disciple
Hello everyone. I'm new and my mother language is not English, I try to understand me and if I need help with google translator.

The question I have is what the title story, a work XTR M900 rear derailleur, Deore hub in FHM 510 and a cassette Alivio HG 51? All in 8 speeds.

Its for my dear Trek 970 rebuilt.

Thanks in advance.

Re:

Just to give you an idea on when they were available...

XTR M900 = 1992 - 1995

Deore M510 = 2000 - 2005

HG51 cassette = Contemporary 8 speed cassette equivalent to the old HG50 and HG70 8 speed cassettes available in the mid to late 1990's.

All functionally compatible.

Thank you very much to both.

Doubt has arisen is costing me because I find a cassette XTR m900 in good condition and good price.

The crankset is a Deore DX (which came standard with front and rear derailleurs XT M735) Do you think that should change the dishes for a prefect use?

The shiftters are a current Altus 3x8, unless there is something interesting.

The truth is I'm doing a "hybrid" current and classic for everyday use.

If interested I will upload photos.

Thanks again.

Re:

Finally, Santa Claus just brought me a Mavic Crossride UB, and only the cassette I need ...

By the way my Mavic 231 with hub Deore DX and weigh less than Crossride ...

This being pretty...

I doubt arises whether it should change the chainrings because when placing an 8-speed chain can I have problems ...

Actually bike carries crankset Shimano DX coming home and if you have something to wear.

You think that you need to change the crankset?

Thank You
