Hi,

I am building a retro bike and have some modolo flash brake levers,
the older generation with alloy bodies rather than derlin.

the levers have a 1 and a 2 moulded into their bodies under the clamp

where levers handed - left and right? perhaps the lever pivot is drilled so the handles an line that swings outward rather than perfectly parallel
to the bars.

alternatively maybe i have one lever from die casting machine 1,
and one from machine 2...

As Pigman says, the cast bodies are both the same, just the hoods that make them L&R.

However, there is a small L&R wrinkle if you have the aero conversion ones.
These have a cable stop and exit in the body. The exit out of the body is cut left or right.
If you're just using them conventionally, with exposed cables, then it's irrelevant.

These are Modolo Equipe, but the same period as Flash:

All the best,
