double butted spokes

These used to be what we all aspired to BITD, yet I've been reading this site for months now and seen scarce mention of them. Que pasa?

My wheels ive just had built for the singlespeed are silver XT hubs with DB spokes,i like them

i use mostly db spokes in 90% of the wheels i build for people, the other 10% always want cxrays or revolutions.

db is considered a standard spoke to me. nice to build with.

yep, I think of db as the norm, revs by choice. Plain gauge is just for entry level bikes

Quite fancy some CX ray, but can't bring myself to splash the cash :?

CX Ray- Sapim bladed spokes. Not much lighter than revs, not meant to be stronger, but look the nuts D)

i like to build my wheels with db spokes, i try to use sapim, as they are nicer quality than dt. my newest wheels are with the cx ray spokes, they seem to be really taught this time, as in the bike seems really stiff with them? on my last build with them they just felt like db spokes

i dont use plain guage any more as they seem no cheaper than db, and to be honest i have never seen any strength issues with db, even my downhill bike has 2.0-1.8-2.0 sapims on.

i used to like the sapim adverts in the mid nineties, thats what i used to aspire to.
