The Ken MacRetro Rider Feedback View May 27, 2010 #12 ah you might want to look at these then, not as cheap but they look nice.... BCD is a bit odd though at 116 - I would move the inner chainring to the outer position for a single. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Miche ... 360040669/ or you could got the BMX crank route

IDB1 Gold Trader Feedback View May 27, 2010 #13 They look nice and not toooooo bad pricewise (not nearly as good as £17 though ) The Ken":386rfrc5 said: or you could got the BMX crank route Click to expand... Is that a simple job or is some fettling required??

MikeD Senior Retro Guru May 27, 2010 #14 Will try to weigh it later. . . it's aluminium so quite light Click to expand... You might be surprised. Aluminium yes, but there's a lot of it in there. Frame (with bb) weighs a couple of ounces under 6lb Click to expand... There you go ;-)[/quote]

mikefoster Retro Guru Feedback View May 27, 2010 #15 Cranks wise you could use mini bmx race cranks. Think they come in different short lengths 130-155mm Like these here: http://www.bmxtalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28169&start=0

IDB1 Gold Trader Feedback View May 28, 2010 #16 Cheers.. Seems that anything BMX related with 'Mini' in the name means it's for young kids (around 5 y/o) and is for riders up to 75lb or something like that.. So I'm going to keep 'em peeled for some cranks around the 150mm mark. Apparently rear cranks off a tandem or recumbent cranks are often shorter.. Got a cheap XT threaded h/set yesterday, wonder how this will build up using that and the MAG21's I have....
