I'm bidding on an eBay item at the mo, as you do.

Looked at the other bids - and the guy who is pushing up the bids - his bid history looks like this

Sporting Goods > Bike Parts 2 Seller 1 1d 6h
Sporting Goods > Other Sporting Goods 1 Seller 1 <1h
Vehicle Parts & Accessories > Other Car Parts 2 Seller 1 <1h
Vehicle Parts & Accessories > Wheels with Tyres 3 Seller 1 4h

That says to me, that in te last 30 days, all he has done is bid on car parts and bike bits only from the one Seller?

Would you be suspicious?

It could just be that that particular seller is one that the bidder has marked as a favourite and therefore he/she bids on lots of items from them.

However, knowing eBay I'd say it's more likely to be suspicious than not, especially as the bidder is bidding in a number of different categories, all from the same seller.

Steer clear. I would.

Or, report to ebay and wait for the item/s to get pulled. Then, innocently approach the seller prior to relisting, saying "What happened to your items? I was hoping to buy them, are you going to relist them? I tell you what, avoid the listing fees and we can do a deal direct  ".... and bag yourself a bargain

Yep. I was looking at a jacket on eBay just after Christmas sometime, on completed listings I could see it didn't sell for £25. Then it was relisted, got 1 bid and was pulled before it finished (shill bid IMO) then it was relisted and got aggressively bid up over the whole week and ended up selling for over a ton. I would avoid getting involved with anything that seems a bit sketchy on eBay, don't give these people the satisfaction.

I was watching a bike the other day (a Specialized FSR Supercross). It was originally listed with a £500.00 start price, and received no bids.

The seller then pulled the item, and relisted it with a 99p start price. Lo and behold, about 20 minutes later the 'bids' had shot up to £500..

There's now another bid on the item I'm after, just under my max bid.

Just reported three of the guys previous auctions :)

Not sure whether to report the current one or not.... might see if eBay react quick enough to get the other guys bids cancelled.
