I don't recall a Ritchey built like this, but it does seem to have some nice brazing on it.

Too late to this game.

It's an earlier one, as it has the tapped boss for the front mech pulley.

I didn't know Chas used TR bb shells, but as they were / are all custom made, the customer gets what the customer wants.

Buyer obviously knows what it is, as the original listing has now ended.

EDIT: Apparently he's going to take it to the local cops to avoid any legal repercussions of selling a frame with ground-off numbers. Fair enough.....

After a lot of backwards and forwards with the seller, a visit to the Police, another phone call to/advice from a Police Officer, and some personal moral debate around buying something with a missing frame number, this is with me now.

Basically, I'd arranged to see the frame as it was local to me, prior to my visit the seller wanted to close the auction pending speaking to the Police to protect his business reputation. As I had arranged to visit he let me know this and I agreed amicably to keep in touch with a view to purchase when we were both comfortable this wasn't 'hot'.

Not sure what the next steps are (or how soon, for various reasons)... but it is resident in the RetroBike community! Thought I'd speak up as this thread kept going...
