Hi do any of you remember the cinelli mtb in the early 90s, i brought one secondhand in 1991, it was birght orange, or pink colour if i remember, had a solid disk in the back wheel, but i do not remember what its model was? Did anyone else own one? any info would be good, or pics!! Thanks

I remember a Cinelli in Pink and a multi flouro coloured one called

believe it or not, the 'Multi-Flouro'.

They were inmported by TW Rutter (down the road from me at the time).

Nice looking, but not that remarkable in the flesh as I remember.

Talking 1988 here btw. Multi Flouro had Exage Mountain. Looked so cool at the time, with those aero thumbies. :D

Watch what you're saying, that was my first proper mountain bike (after years of Mustangs, Magnums and other Raleigh ATBs). It was a mad spray-job, had a Ubrake under the chainstay and was a full 22" frame (for all 5'7" of me). Whole thing got upgraded to XT and then had a burgandy respray (a la S-works), got stolen in East London - the theives cut down a lamp post to get it rather than cut through the kryponite lock!). Found a photo of me on it the other day, unfortunately I haven't a scanner so you'll never be able to see the full glory of that beaut!

These are photos of my friend's Cinelli MTB, which he bought from Fisher Bikes in 1992 during a liquidation event.

thats some memories

Thats what i reemember, same basic shape, but mine was in bright pink, from memory. Before i owned that bike, i brought a brand new falcon chrome framed mtb, had 15 gears it was a great bike as all other bikes were bmxs, it was such a big thing to go from 1 gear, or 3gears if include the grifter that my dad brought for me in 81, to having 15. Just think its now all going full circle, people getting into single speed, i hated 1 gear it was such a revelation to have 15..

Cinelli, IIRC, were decent hand made Columbus Chromo OR in Europe, but were some bastardised Gary Fisher Frankenbike with 1 1/4" stem and e-stays in the US, euuwwh!

Yeah fair point. Perhaps didn't study them that closely. Was more in awe of pink and green stumpjumpers etc at the time.

:D

Well, I don't have a scanner but I do have a good macro function on my camera. Here we go, please note the Specialized air force helmet, big hiking boots and cheesy smile (I was only 16 or so...):

I remember that bike. My LBS had one in the window and the sun faded the paint job down one side
