Kaiser is correct. The last time I rebuilt my Saracen, I used a wheel axle to clean the thread.
I would only use a hub or hub axle to check, not to actually bend the hanger.
And I think it would be a rear hub; the hanger thread is 10mm x 1mm (a Campagnolo hanger might be very slightly different but close enough to be compatible), a front hub is usually 9mm.
Shimano rear hub is 10mm x 1mm but Campagnolo is 10mm x 26 tpi.
From the photos it looks like the hanger is in line with the dropout and it's the dropouts that's bent.

....anticipation of the result is killing me. I'm glued to this thread. Hope the bike is in a garage close to you...with streaming internet and a pro video and sound crew. All the swearing, tape measures, spirit levels and tubs rolling off the rim captured for all to see. I wonder if it works with Alloy or Ti axles? Exactly how much does paint stretch? Can't go to bed now thinking about it....fingers crossed n all.

No use using the front wheel cos the axle is about 1mm smaller. I had to use an mtb rear wheel as I don't have another 700cc. That fit nicely but as it's a smaller wheel I could not measure rim to rim top and bottom. By eye it looked a little bit out. I gave it as much of a lever as I'd dare. Straightened it slightly. Put back together. Still sounds like a bag of cack. As some others have pointed out here, the whole drop-out is not true. So on reflection I will take it to the local frame builder to sort out.
Not a bad idea though, but much easier with another rear wheel of the same size.

Hi Spibbs Hate to be a fly in this ointment here, but when you re-set your oln you stretch the tubes AND the dropout ie: you reset the angle of the rear stays by 4mm, which alters the angle of the dropout in proportion. YES buddy they run like a *****d when the alignment is out no matter what you do.
No offence, but it sounds like your LBS guy is making beer money from just pulling the stays slightly. Trust me, 4mm can be moved by my 11yr old daughter.
Think about it logically, " mentally pull your stays apart and the angle of the dropout changes too. Now close it down from 130mm to 126mm. This is the precise angle discrepency you are fighting with if you look at the dropout in your pic, its kicked in, just as you'd expect when shortening the oln, outward if its a 126 > 130. Later fellow, yours Laz.
