A friend needs copies of bank statements from 2009. The account at that time was a joint account. Previously the account had been in the name of her ex-husband which I believe it has been reverted back to.
But, around 2009, maybe a little earlier and a little later but October 2009 is the crucial month, it was in both parties name.
So far the bank have refused to provide copy statements as the account is now in the name of the ex-husband.
This doesn't seem just. If the account was in joint names in 2009 statements should be available to both parties.
Does anyone know the legal responsibility of the bank?
