A shorter stem would do miracles, and a 15mm riser bar wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Yes, that is what I was thinking - that's a pretty long stem there. Also, is there any room left to slide the stem up a bit to raise the bar?

So I'm thinking raise the stem a couple of inches, would maybe require a new front brake cable. Failing that, and if it's a 23" frame, sell it to me.

Posting a pic of the bike as you actually ride it might help...

My back problems arnt caused by the bike at all, It was a work injury. Ive had the seat lower , The bars higher , Ive tried flipping the seat guts to get me closer to the bars but with no help.

Other than the seat being horizontal , Its how it is in that pic. Id say the same hight too.

Anyone know the lenght of a girvin stem? The flexistem?

As it might be a nice way of taking some of the shock out of the front end..

EVERYONE is taking the wrong approach here

what's needed is some core strengthening exercises on a regular basis.

Nevertheless, you have a back problem now, and even though the bike didn't cause it, once you have a bad back, a bike that is too long in the top tube won't suit you any longer.

Agreed.

Most injuries are soft tissue - and can be related to posture or evolved traits in movement. Physio and strengthening exercise can be of significant help - most of the time people talk about having back (or other) injuries / problems as being a done deal.

Even for those people who have issues with the spine, in some cases - perhaps most - physio and strengthening exercises (I'm not going to use the 'c' word, I hate the term) can be of notable benefit.
