Do I need ceramic-specific brake pads?

Thanks everyone. I'm definitely going to use ceramic pads rather than take a chance with regular pads.

Tom, that link to CRC is for V-brake holders. Can I use V-brake pads with canti brakes? If so, then that solves my issue. I have no problem finding Kool Stop ceramic pad inserts for V-brake holders. :)

Cheers.

You can definately get metal shoes/holders that work with canti's.

Have a look toward the bottom of this thread at the Onza Hola's. They're using exactly what I'm on about. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... =onza+hola

I think these are what you'll need http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=2956
Says V brake but the old STX RC V's used a canti style pad. The picture certainly shows an unthreaded post. I'm fairly sure halfords do these, perhaps have a look if there's one local to you?

Thanks Tom. I actually need pads with a threaded post (for Control Tech cantis), so I guess any traditional V-brake holders will do?
