"them" being a pair of boots i have had for years! they are now knackered but have been many many places with me. a motorbike holiday in India and SanFrancisco being two places.
the soles now have holes and leak and they are just shabby, but i feel they are almost part of me so is it bin time?
or do i put em on a shelf and just have memories of the miles we have shared?

odd one i know but there you go!

You may be able to have them re-soled. You might be surprised

I used to sell Timberland boots, and have just realised it was 16 years ago - ouch!. We would take in really badly beaten up pairs and send them off for repair: you keep the nice comfy uppers and get some new soles. Perfect.

Old boots are like old friends (but your other half will probably throw them out when you're not looking, anyway).

Old boots are like old friends<TRUE!> (but your other half will probably throw them out when you're not looking, anyway)<no other half to worry about!>.[/quote]

could this be the daftest question ever?

binmen have gone now so "them" are safe for one more week.
