Do all parcels sent from the UK to France get x-rayed?

Need to send a bottle of wine to France...regs state okay if no more than 1 litre and below 70%...but most carriers state a non-alcohol policy!

Does everything get x-rayed?

The Post Office should accept it, unless something has changed recently. And, from memory, they are not expensive as it is a cyclinder.

Thanks Richard...technically they would not as they state a maximum bottle size of 1,litre and mine is a magnum...1.5 litres. That's why I wondered about X-ray. They also charge a fortune. Found a specialist shipper now.

Out of interest, what is the cost? I posted some bottles to Holland and i think it was pretty cheap.

I wish someone here worked for RM to confirm this, but last year they put all their prices up and there is something that makes me think that they either dropped prices recently OR increased parcel sizes.

It would be handy to have a RM guide somewhere on the site.
