Disc fork for '92 Kona Fire Mountain

Retro Newbie
The thread on retro mountain bike touring has got me all fired up to load up my old Fire Mountain and trundle off into the sunset. It's currently got v-brakes on it but I might want a bit more stopping power if I'm loaded up with camping stuff - hence the thought of putting a disc brake on the front. i've seen a firm selling one inch steerer threaded disc forks on ebay - apologies if link doesn't work

would these do the trick, or should I be looking for something else?

cheers

Re:

They would do the job although I believe the axle to crown is 10mm higher than the P2 your bike would've come with, resulting in a slightly slacker head angle and less responsive steering. Saying that, you probably wouldn't notice the difference and for touring it probably won't matter too bad a thing anyway.
