Anybody recommend a pair of digital scales for weighing complete bikes?

I got one of these a few months ago Rob, seem to work ok. Plus they've got a 4 for 3 offer on atm if you need owt else.

Rob I would avoid digital scales unless you intend on spending big bucks.I do a lot of fishing and have went through a few scales,the problem is a lot of cheap digital scales have a large max weight(ie 40kgs).The larger the max weight the more accuracy you lose.If you are weighing bikes,a max weight you should go for is 20kgs.This scale will have a +- of 1oz.Go for a dial scale,far far more consistent.I use expensive scales but also have a set shown in the link and find them 100%.

I use a cheap digital luggage scale which hangs from the roof of my garage.

They are usually out from +/-8oz to 1.5lbs.If a bike needs to be weighted accurately thats too much of a variation.The Reuben Heatons in the link for £22 are money well spent.

These are mine, but not by choice - only because they were 'acquired' :



I really need some of those pub talk scales though, they give much more impressive figures ...

Better still, use a spreadsheet, trust the manufactures claimed weights and conveniently forget cables and tubes etc

It's remote control too - I look like a right dick hanging it on the swing frame to weigh a bike ...

I would love to hang some of the 'light' bike claims on it ...
