I recently added a few purchases to my Kleins and sold a couple of my previous ones, all local trading. One of the new ones is an HLF. There are some areas of paint damage that reveal whats under the top coat which I am convinced is genuine Klein paint. The colours across the frame set have faded slightly at the same rates. The paint on the MC1 and the Unikleins is the normal thickness that I have found on other frames, but the paint on the frame itself is thicker and reveals a fair number of layers of paint. Interestingly under the head tube area is green, the BB area is the HLF blue and pink with layers of white underneath and then at the rear under the HLF colours is firstly white then bright pink followed by white again.
I think this frame was originally a Dolomite Klein paint job that for whatever reason Klein then repainted in HLF, but the MC1 and forks were only ever painted the once in HLF.
Hope that adds some value to the topic!
