Dibbed Roberts!

Hi Neil, I don't like to ruin your dreams but be careful.
Chas dropped that frame design because the chainstays kept cracking. He showed me one of the prototype frames (the one featured in MBUK, I think) and the chainstays were starting to crack where they bend around the tyre.
It might be worth finding out the date the frame was built from the seller (it will be stamped under the bottom bracket shell) and checking with Roberts to see if they solved the problem by using heavier gauge tubing.

I was going to say that too. Definately not aluminium. Up to 95-96 Roberts had definately never used aluminium to construct frames.

One of the best frames i've ever ridden. You'll never know how many paper-rounds i had to do to buy my Roberts frame at the age of 15!

Not only did I end up with a great bike but got fit in the process! :D

More E's

Gone for a very reasonable £236, methinks! Track 2's as well...

The owner confirms no cracks and that the bike hasn't actually been off road yet! Contacted Roberts and they say it'll be fine...

Anyone able to scan the MBUK article for me - Scant??!

Neil
