Here's a pair of very early 7 speed STI units which I think date from either 1989 or 1990 - they're Shimano Deore LX (ST-M060 to be exact) and were removed from a Marin Eldgridge (the matt grey and neon orange one). They have rubber hoods, full size plastic brake levers for cantis and double under-bar gear levers.

The RH is complete and working well but the LH one needs attention (plus a cable adjuster and the bolt that holds bottom of the shifter section together) and is for spares or repairs.

Could be used with a 7 speed set-up on a hack (I've seen these used with the shifter part removed with a saw!) possibly repaired, or used to match up with a functioning LH.

£12 the pair posted to mainland UK - or trade with me (see my signature).

Q ?

Hi, I have a Scott Boulder from '90 (I guess) and it doesn't have the original pair of brake+shifter units, it has a shimano deore dx rapidfire on the right and some cheap revoshift on the left. My question is: will these STI's match my config (it appears that all the equipment on the bike should have been Deore LX) ? I mention that the rear (7 speed) and front derailleurs are original deore LX.

hello and welcome the the forum!

these will work with your gears and brakes, but bear in mind that the left-hand one needs attention and is possibly for spares only!! As I stated the right hand one is in perfect working order.

Well, I would like them both to be in good shape... I also think that a rh deore dx unit will do, if I can find one.

yeah, I guess the choice would be to match the one you already have or sell it and buy these and try to match / fix the good one - same difference really!?
